Hugonin is my family name. When my father Arthur Elsworth Hugonin was growing up in the Cypress Texas area, not many of his friends could pronounce his last name. So they started calling him "Hugo".
Larry, I have Hugunins and Huguenins in my family tree. They were originally from Neuchatel, Switzerland but were French speakers. They immigrated through Charleston, SC in 1732. C. L. Kelly Willis, TX
Thanks for visiting my blog. As far as I know my Hugonin's do not have a connection to anyone living in Switzerland. Alexis Hugonin entered the U.S. thru Philadelphia in 1801. He was from France.
